Win $5000 prizemoney by entering the Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize 2009

A great opportunity for emerging artists

Are you an emerging artist? For or the purposes of the Newcastle Emerging Artist Prize (NEAP), an 'emerging' artist is one who has not previously won the NEAP or been part of a major exhibition in a commercial or public gallery.

If this sounds like you, and if $5000 wouldn't go astray towards your art practice, then consider entering this year's prize. Cash and vouchers will be awarded in the categories of Sculpture-3D, Photomedia, Painting and Works on Paper, plus you also have the chance to win the People's Choice Award.

The NEAP is a selective exhibition and places are limited so download a form and consider the best work you can choose to enter.

Completed works and Entry Forms are due on Monday 11 May.

New website for the new year at NAS

Welcome to the new Newcastle Art Space website!

We decided that our hardworking website needed a new look. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the old site and we welcome suggestions for features, downloads and links you would like to see as part of the new site.

Mailing List

Would you like to join the mailing list for 2009?

As part of our improvements in 2009 we are updating the NAS mailing list.

If you are already on the postal list you will receive a confirmation form by mail. Please indicate your wish to remain on the mailing list by returning the form to us or emailing us your name and details.

We are also creating a NAS email list for invitations to exhibitions via email.

If you are new to NAS and would like to join either list, please just let us know! Add your name to the sheet in the gallery next time you visit, or contact us by mail PO Box 2257, Dangar NSW 2309 or email us using the link below.

New logo for the new year at NAS

Newcastle Art Space is getting a makeover!

You may have noticed a few changes to the look of things at Newcastle Art Space. We felt it was time for a bit of an update so the NAS log has been revamped for 2009.

Keeping our strong red and black branding, but using a more contemporary typeface, the new logo is gradually creeping in to circulation as we change over our signage and stationery.

If you require an updated version if the logo you can download one from our proposals page.
