Abbey Cecil & Hayley Wheaton

Between Space
G1

Abbey Cecil is currently enrolled in her third year of a Bachelor of Fine Art at the University of Newcastle. Her paintings explore the idea of life that exists on the fringes of reality, in which the form and the void are readily interchangeable. Her aim in Between Space is to elucidate the illusion of nothingness surrounding an art object that is necessary for a work to insist on its own existence. In March 2009 Abbey had her first solo exhibition, Declivity, at Watt Space, Newcastle.

Hayley Wheaton is currently completing her final year of a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga Campus via distance education. Hayley’s mixed media work is concerned with life forms within transitional environments. Using representations of the human body she seeks to reflect on different aspects of the human condition. Hayley has exhibited in various spaces in the Riverina area including the Wagga Wagga Regional Gallery. Between Space is her first Exhibition in the Newcastle area.
